Yvonne Anne Avella, born on August 5, 1940, passed away on December 26, 2025. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, joy, and love that will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
Yvonne was renowned for her unparalleled ability to bring people together, often hosting large parties filled with laughter, abundant food, and a contagious spirit of celebration. Her home was a haven where friends and family would gather, and her hospitable nature made every event a memorable occasion. She had a special gift for creating an atmosphere of love and togetherness, where stories were shared, and memories were made.
Beyond her talent for entertaining, Yvonne found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren and children. Their laughter and smiles lit up her days, and she took great pride in nurturing their dreams and aspirations. Her bond with them was a testament to her generous heart and the unwavering support she offered to her family.
She survived by her children, Sino (Cammy) Avella, Lisa Prendergast, and Tony (Kristine) Avella; her grandchildren, Michael (Shannon) Avella, Joseph (Mo) Avella, Anthony (Theresa) Avella, Ryan Prendergast, Megan Avella, Kyle Prendergast, Michael Avella, Haley Avella, Lauren Prendergast, Caitlin Prendergast, Liam Prendergast; great grandchildren Rosie Avella, Luke Avella, Lenox Avella, Maddox Avella, Everleigh Avella, Hadleigh Avella, and Raedwolf Avella.
She was preceded in death by her husband Guy Avella and her brother Martin Lambert.
Yvonne’s happiest moments were spent in her garden, where she cultivated not only beautiful flowers but also a sense of tranquility and peace. The backyard, alive with the colors of nature, was her sanctuary—a place where she could reflect and revel in the beauty that surrounded her. It was in these simple yet profound moments, amidst the blossoms, that she felt most at home.
Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her loved ones, and her legacy of kindness, celebration, and love will inspire generations to come. Yvonne will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever be a source of comfort and joy to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
