A wonderful father, Tommie devoted himself to his family, taking great joy in spending quality time with his grandchildren. His warm presence and unwavering support have left an indelible mark on their lives, creating cherished memories that will be treasured forever.

Tommie's passions extended beyond family; he found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. Fishing with his brother was a cherished activity, where they enjoyed the tranquility of nature and deepened their bond. He also shared countless adventures with his best friend and cousin, Mark Allen Riley, including trips to the Amish Auction, where laughter and camaraderie were never in short supply.

Renowned for his impressive gardening skills, Tommie's cabbages grew to astonishing sizes—often compared to basketballs—and he took pride in his bountiful tomato harvests. His garden was not just a source of sustenance but also a testament to his hard work and dedication.

Tommie had a fondness for a good buffet, relishing the opportunity to enjoy a meal surrounded by loved ones. He was an avid sports fan, supporting his favorite teams, the Cubs and the Colts, with unwavering loyalty. Additionally, he had a love for watching wrestling, especially during his later years of life. 

His vibrant spirit and love for life touched many, and he will be deeply missed. Tommie Clay Basil leaves behind a tapestry of memories that will continue to inspire and uplift those who remember him.

He is survived by his son Thomas/Yvonne, Grandchildren Joseph/Allie Basil, Lindsay /James Tuttle, Megan/Gavin Stanzione ,Brother Bland/Ann Basil , Cherished Cousin Lilly Ann Riley ,several nieces and nephews.He was proceeded on death by his Parents and ex wife Barbara
