Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Todd Flahavan, 64, of Portage, WI
"I ain’t as good as I once was, but I’m as good once as I ever was."
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Todd Flahavan on December 30, 2025, at 11:01 AM, surrounded by his loved ones. Todd was a man of action who lived life at FULL THROTTLE.
Todd’s roots run deep in the rural landscapes of Lisle, New York and Marshall, Wisconsin. He spent his childhood working on the family farm alongside his brother Troy. He attended school in Marshall, WI, and was part of the wrestling team. Later, Todd ventured into construction, working with Findorff and D&M Concrete, where he was valued not only as an employee but as family. He took great pride in contributing to the buildings and structures that now define Madison’s skyline.
Todd’s true passion was building and restoring vehicles. As the owner of Southern Truck and Auto, Todd built his business from the ground up, driven by his love for cars and trucks. He took great pride in his work, always ensuring that every vehicle he restored or sold was of the highest quality. His trips to the south to find rust-free parts became legendary. Todd was a man who understood the value of hard work and "DOING IT RIGHT." Whether he was racing cars, taking his monster trucks through mud, or riding his Harley, Todd was always in his element.
This passion for vehicles, and the sense of adventure that came with it, was a LEGACY he shared with his children and grandchildren. Todd made sure that his family experienced the joy he found in toys and engines. His children, grandkids, niece and nephew grew up surrounded by Go-Carts, dirt bikes, four-wheelers, and every kind of toy a kid could dream of. Car shows, demolition derbies, race pits, and family outings were filled with memories. There was NEVER an age limit to driving, Todd loved teaching everyone, young and old, how to drive, work with tools, and appreciate the value of hard work. Todd Flahavan was born on November 25, 1961, in Madison, WI. He was preceded in death by his father, John “Fred” Flahavan, mother, Evelyn Otis, and brother, Jay Flahavan. Todd is survived by his girlfriend of 26 years, Maria Fleury; his children: Shane, Natasha, Breanna, Heather, Broc, Trent, Birkli, and Jace; 18 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; as well as his siblings, Troy (Cindy) Flahavan, Cari (Kevin) Yates, and Sean (Heather) Flahavan, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
