Sarah McKenzie

Sarah Lynn McKenzie, born on December 31, 1941, lovingly known as Saralynn, left this world on February 19, 2026, but her spirit and legacy will forever illuminate the lives of those she touched.

She was preceded in death by her father, Frank W. Thomas, and her mother, LaVerne M. Thomas. She is survived by her two brothers, George W. Thomas (Peggy) and David F. Thomas (Gail), whom she loved dearly. Her two daughters, Carrie McKenzie and Candice Swieckowski (Todd), will forever cherish the love she brought into their lives.

Saralynn lived with an open heart, embracing everyone she encountered — she truly never met a stranger. Known for her sunny disposition, she had a remarkable gift for finding the silver lining in every situation and was always ready with a kind word or heartfelt compliment that could brighten someone’s day.

She lived her life putting others first. She devoted years to caring for her own mother, and through her work at Beverly in Camden, she lovingly looked after the family members of others as if they were her own. Caring for people wasn’t just what she did — it was who she was.

She cherished life’s simple joys. Word games delighted her mind, and paint-by-number projects gave her peaceful moments to let her creativity flow. Conversations with friends and family were her lifeblood, filling her heart with happiness and deep connection.

Her happiest times were spent surrounded by those she loved. The laughter, stories, and memories created in those moments will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.

As we reflect on Saralynn’s life, we remember her playful spirit, her genuine kindness, and the love and light she shared so freely. She leaves behind an indelible mark on all who were blessed to know her. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy of warmth, friendship, and compassion will continue to inspire and uplift for generations to come.

Memorial services to be held at a future date both in Minnesota and in Arkansas.
