Richard Lee Krickl

Richard Lee Krickl, born on December 18, 1958, passed away at Mercy Hospital, Janesville WI on August 11, 2026, after eight weeks of cardiac rehabilitation following a heart attack. Rick will be remembered for his kind spirit, generous heart, and the passions that brought joy to his life and those around him. Rick is survived by three siblings, Jerry (Cheryl Topp) Krickl, Cindy (Jim) Tessman and Timothy (Dee Dee) Krickl. Rick was proud of all his nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews and loved each one of you.  Rick graduated in 1977 from Milton High School and worked at the Janesville Country Club before moving to Florida to live with his parents in 2004. Rick loved Florida but after his parents had passed in 2019 and 2021, he traveled with his beloved Pepe back to Wisconsin to be closer to his family.  

A man of many interests, Rick found great happiness in the simple pleasures—most notably, his love for Nascar. He talked often of his buddy, Jody Erickson in Florida and their trips to watch the races in Daytona. Whether watching races or following his favorite drivers, Rick loved collecting anything Nascar. He was a proud Minnesota Vikings fan, steadfastly supporting his team through every season. Sports were always a favorite pastime, and Rick also looked forward to watching wrestling matches, eagerly keeping up with the latest in the world of wrestling. 

Rick's devotion extended to his beloved Pepe, his cherished Chihuahua. Pepe was more than just a pet; he was Rick's constant companion and buddy, often found being lovingly carried around or nestled by his side. The warmth shared between Rick and Pepe was a testament to the love Rick had for those close to him, both two-legged and four.

Those who knew Rick best will remember him for his readiness to lend a helping hand. He loved to help mow lawns at his Church in Florida whenever needed.  Always willing to assist with projects, Rick's helpful nature left a lasting mark on family and friends. He took pride in turning to his favorite recipes, finding creativity and comfort in cooking his own meals. His artistic side flourished in activities such as diamond art, building with Legos, and completing intricate puzzles, which he proudly displayed.

Above all, Rick's greatest source of happiness was being with his family, surrounded by love and laughter. His happy place was always among those he held dear, with Pepe close beside him.

Though Rick has left us, his memory endures in the hearts of all who loved him. His kindness, enthusiasm for life’s pleasures, and devotion to both family and loyal companions stand as a lasting legacy. A Celebration of Rick's Life will be announced at a later date.
