Randall Lee Amos, born on September 3, 1959 and passed away on June 1, 2026. He was the youngest of three children by nine years. His unexpected arrival was quite a shock to his parents, Lois and Robert, but also an enormous blessing!

Randy spent his early years growing up in New Brighton, MN. Sadly his mother, Lois Amos passed away in his junior year. Following his graduation from Mounds View High School he enlisted in the army.

Due to Randy’s math proficiency he was chosen to work in satellite communications. His training and experience made him a sought after professional.

Randy met the love of his life, Wendy, while working in Colorado. After marrying they moved to Plano, Texas due to a lucrative job proposal.

Randy and Wendy created a beautiful life in Texas. They built their dream house in McKinney and loved hosting friends, Wendy’s family from New Jersey, and Randy’s family from MN.

Always eager for an adventure, they bought a corvette and joined a club that provided exciting road trips! Always a sport fanatic, they had season tickets to the Dallas Stars, formally the MN North Stars. Randy and Wendy worked hard, played enthusiastically, and loved their many pets and each other.

Unfortunately, due to a freak accident, Randy suffered a very serious brain injury in the fall of 2012. Forever after, Randy’s life would be defined as before the accident, or after the accident.

In addition to physical deficiencies, he had severe permanent brain damage. His judgement and reasoning were deeply impaired.

We were all shocked when he sought a divorce. Afterwards, he struggled, making many poor decisions in Texas.  In 2014, we were able to convince him to move to MN to be near family.

There were both good and bad times in MN. His favorite activity was playing cards and games with family. His favorite was Give Me Five. He would get a smirky smile and a twinkle in his eye when he won, and he always won!

He loved his MN Vikings! He preferred to watch the games at home where he could bite his nails and yell at the refs and only have his dog, Snowflake, watching him!

Randy’s injury made it difficult to make new friends. We will always appreciate the old friends from his early years, Ron and Bert Gross and their entire family, and Tom and Susie Kramer, who welcomed him back into their lives.

Randy was extremely generous. He loved Christmas and would wear a Santa suit and hand out gift cards to strangers! Unfortunately, his generosity also made him an easy target for scams.

Due to his brain injury Randy suffered deeply from depression. His family and friends were heartbroken to learn that he lost  his battle with depression.

Randy’s father, Robert Amos, and his brother, Larry Amos , preceded him in death. He is survived by his sister, Linda King, and his nieces and nephews, and their families.

We hope Randall Lee Amos will be remembered as a loving, caring, and generous soul. We take solace in knowing he is at peace.
