Phillip Settiapni

Chciago Illinios born to Leonard J and Frances A Settipani (Carlson) on August 7, 1962

Phillip lived in Chicago all his life and enjoyed the city's lively culture, especially its music scene. he loved attending concerts, riding his bike and exploring the beaches along lake Michigan. it was in Chicago that he met Shelly Hales, who has been his partner for more than 33 years.

Phil enjoyed working with his hands, weather he was building a bike, restoring something old or creating a fun and imaginative projects for his grandchildren. he was always there to help teach kids something new like riding a bike, flying a kite or fixing something that they broke. he also enjoyed planning family parties with Shelly ensuring everyone was welcomed and had fun. this included planning, setting up and breaking down afterwards.  he enjoyed movies, telling jokes, loved Navy Pier, teaching his daughter's how to drive, loved being home and having bonfires and just being there for those he loved. He was best known for his Humer, kindness, rare gift making, and seeing the bright side of everything.

Though he held many titles throughout his life his favorites were dad and PooPaw. He always made plans for his grandchildren's visits and never said no to a fun activity.  They loved him deeply and showed them unconditional love in return.

those who are left to cherish his memories are his partner Shelly Hales, daughter Valerie (Chris), stepdaughter Mary (Brad) sister Toni (the late Aleen), bother Lenny, grandchildren Joseph, Camden and Hailey, also let re his sisters and bother in laws (the late Patty), Kevin (Barb), Tina (Mike) and Lynn.  Nieces, Anna, Christina, Jenny, and nephews, ron (Tara) Kevin, Donnie, Danny (Vivi) and extended family and friends.  

Our family would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to those who have prayed for us, provided food, visited, called Phillip will be missed by many. 

Phillip was preceded in passing both his parents.
