Michael Skrobacz, of Long Grove, IL, 96, passed away on Monday May 12, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his beloved family. Born in Ukraine on December 2, 1928, he was the loving son of the late John and Lenora (Gergel) Skrobacz, and a supportive brother to Steve (Gergel) Skrobacz. Michael was a devoted husband and father and is survived by his wife, Anna Skrobacz (Holoweszko), son Victor (Maryann) Skrobacz, daughter, Vera (Scott) DeGroot, and brother-in-law, John Holoweszko. He was a proud grandfather to Barbara Skrobacz, Tanya DeGroot, and Victor Jr. Skrobacz, and a delighted great-grandfather to Zelena and Odette. Michael will be missed by all, including his cherished pets: Mickey, Bailey, Turbo, and Shelby.Michael was known for his deep love for his family and his unwavering dedication as a husband and father. He found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren and treasured his trips to Hawaii and Disney World with his family. He took great pride in his work as a Teamster with Streets and Sanitation, where he spent many years plowing the runways of O’Hare Airport, ensuring the safety of countless travelers. In his free time, Michael enjoyed the simple pleasures of life — strolling through the Botanical Gardens, relaxing on his deck with his beloved dog Mickey, and savoring home-cooked meals lovingly prepared by his wife, Anna, which he always preferred over dining out. Michael’s legacy is one of love, hard work, and family.
