Matthew Maney passed away on October 31, 2026, at the age of 78.

Born on July 15, 1948, Matt was known as a laid-back and easygoing man who found comfort in life’s simple pleasures. He loved to relax and take things as they came, and he especially enjoyed watching television, cooking, and spending time at home. One of his greatest daily joys was sharing time with his sister, Rubie, his daily calls and surprise visits from his Daughter Lila, calls from surviving siblings Mary, Elijah, Lee, Eddie, Connell, weekly cares from his niece, Tavia and his caregiver that was a more like a son, Mike, who he spent most of his time with daily. Sitting on his patio with Rubie, who lived in the same building and spent time with him every day, was a cherished part of his life.

Matt kept to himself much of the time, yet he knew many people outside his family and left an impression through his calm and steady presence. He enjoyed a cigar now and then, his brown beer, and a little THC. Though he was a loner in many ways, he loved his family deeply, and that love remained an important part of who he was.

Matthew Maney will be remembered for his quiet spirit, his easygoing nature, and the comfort he found in familiar routines and the people closest to him. May his memory bring peace to those who knew and loved him.
