Joan Katherine Bowman

Joan Katherine Bowman(83) passed away on May 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She is predeceased by her devoted parents, Robert and Susanna Glassman. Joan is leaving behind a legacy of music, kindness, friendship, and love.

Joan’s love of music was at the heart of who she was. Her talent and passion were truly enjoyed by all who had the privilege of hearing her play and sing. Music was not only her profession, it was the soul of who she was. In addition, Joan was a devoted animal lover and found comfort and happiness in caring for them, especially her latest cat, Poppy.

Above all else, Joan’s greatest joy in life was her family. She is survived by her two beloved daughters, Suzanne Burns (Thomas) and Billie Jo Scroggins (Leon), who were the center of her world. She also leaves behind five cherished grandchildren and eight treasured great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense happiness and pride to her life. Joan also treasured her lifelong friendship with Ellen and Mary, a remarkable bond that endured for nearly 80 years 

Joan will be remembered for her warm heart, kind spirit, and the love she gave so freely to everyone around her. Her laughter, music, and loving presence will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in the memories she created and the love she leaves behind, which will remain with us always.
