George Herbert Capper of Palos Park was born on February 6, 1944 and died peacefully on January 22, 2026.
George graduated from St. Rita High School in 1962 and then continued going to school for many more years (to avoid Vietnam, he’d tell you). Eventually, he earned four advanced degrees, including a Doctorate. He worked as a Teacher and Assistant Principal until he completed his Doctorate.
Later he worked for CBRE in commercial Real Estate and also taught at Moraine Valley Community College and at Loyola University.
He met Terri (née Stephens) in 1980 and they were married in May of 1983. George loved to fish, especially at their lake home they had in northern Wisconsin. He also loved the many rescued dogs they adopted over the years. George was a wonderful guy with a great sense of humor. He will be sorely missed by Terri’s 11 brothers and sisters and to all who knew and loved him.
Please join us for a celebration of George’s life on Saturday, February 21 at Lake Katherine Nature Center and Botanic Gardens at 7402 West Lake Katherine Drive in Palos Heights from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
