Gary Wayne Pillischafske,  passed away peacefully in Buffalo Grove, Illinois on April 24, 2026, following a courageous and long battle with Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD).  He was born in Peoria, Illinois and attended school in Champaign.

Gary was a loving husband to Morgan, his wife of 35 years; father to their cherished son Kyle (Marisa); and a loving grandfather to Gracie and Christopher. He also leaves behind his brother, Keith Pillischafske (Kim) of Champaign; as well as an aunt and a large loving extended family of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. He embraced his family roles with unwavering devotion and kindness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald B. and Marie Pillischafske, and his brothers Dennis and Donald, along with many aunts and uncles.

Professionally, Gary spent much of his life immersed in the world of high-end men's fashion, specializing in the sale of distinguished suits that complemented the elegance of his clientele. His impeccable taste and eye for detail were evident not only in his work but also in his personal style. In his younger days, Gary even explored the realm of modeling, where his dapper appearance left a lasting impression and reflected his refined character.

Outside of his career, Gary found joy in the simple pleasures that enriched his everyday existence. An avid gardener, a lover of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, he nurtured plants, dogs, birds and fish with the same care and patience he applied to all aspects of his life.  He was so proud of his many collections as well as the beautiful quilts he designed. His passion for baking was equally profound, and family gatherings were often highlighted by the delightful aroma and taste of his famous chocolate chip cookies. Those who had the pleasure of knowing him as an uncle remember him fondly, especially his nieces and nephews, who cherished these sweet treats as tokens of his affection.

Gary Pillischafske will be deeply missed by all who knew him—not only for his talents and hobbies but for the generous spirit and loving heart that defined him. His memory will be treasured by his beloved family and all who experienced the warmth he so freely gave.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Peoria, Illinois.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Gary's memory to the PKD Foundation.
