It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Darius Taylor, who was born on October 12, 1981, and left us on April 12, 2026. Darius was a remarkable individual whose vibrant spirit and diverse talents touched the lives of many.
Throughout his life, Darius found joy and purpose in a variety of passions. He was an avid basketball player, showcasing athleticism and teamwork on the court. Beyond sports, he was a gifted musician, expressing himself through singing, dancing, rapping, and music production. His creative energy brought smiles to those around him and made the music studio his sanctuary, a place where he felt truly at home and inspired.
Darius was not only talented but also known for his humor and charm. His ability to make others laugh was a defining characteristic. He radiated warmth and cheer, creating a welcoming presence that left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Though words cannot fully capture the essence of Darius Taylor, his legacy remains alive in the music he created, the laughter he shared, and the countless memories cherished by friends and all who were blessed to experience his unique spirit. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
Darius, the son of Archie Mae Watkins-Taylor and Roger Williams, is survived by several loving siblings and his loving children.
His Celebration of Life service will be 3 pm, Saturday, April 25th, at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church (410 S. Olive Street) in Peoria, Illinois. After the celebration, there will be a repast (downstairs at the church) and a balloon release at Upper-Bradley Park.
