Bonnie K Gass

Bonnie K Gass, born on March 22, 1947, to Earl and Beatrice Shears in Cedar Rapids IA. Bonnie was a long time active member of "The Barn" the Schaumburg Senior Center. This was her happy place to where she loved to play bingo weekly if not daily, also where she found joy, camaraderie, and countless cherished moments among friends and fellow enthusiasts. She will be fondly remembered as someone whose spirit brightened the room, week after week and of course her love to dance. She was a dog lover and especially cared for her last dog, Holly.

Bonnie is survived by her son Jason Cook; her grandchildren, Zachary Cook, Amanda Cook (Drew Anello), Addison Cook, and Sadie Cook; brother, Larry Shears; and her niece Angie Klosterman, nephew Brad Shears, and her closest friends Renay and Tom.  

Bonnie was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Cook; her father, Earl Shears; her mother, Bea Shears; her brother, Bill Shears; her daughter-in-law, Carri Cook; her niece, Amy Shears; and her husband Doug Gass.

Bonnie passed away on August 4, 2026, surrounded by family and friends.
